Interesting segment today on the morning show at 7:45am. More offices are offering workers alcohol. Just think, a few too many at the office after work and you may end up dressing like the man above. You don't want to be like him.
A lot of us get free food at work now and then, but now more companies are loading up on full bars and beer fridges for some after work repartee with fellow workers. You like the idea? It could bring up a whole lot of risky issues though. In fact, if I'm a company lawyer, I'd see lawsuit written all over this.
America and alcohol is a strange mix. Other countries manage to combine work and alcohol (or lack of it too) in ways that don't raise so many questions like they do here. I think company-provided booze as a "perk" isn't a good idea. Encouraging drinking and driving is never a good thing. I remember former SU and now UConn football coach Paul Pasqualoni telling me once, "Ah Joe....nothing good ever comes out of being at a bar." I think he's right.
Then again, it might be a reason to blame my boss for my beer belly!
Have a nice 4th of July.
