Flags will fly at half-mast in NJ today to honor James Gandolfini. NJ Governor Chris Christie signed the executive order. Christie's taking heat for the move, but he's done it before--he did the same for E-Street Band member Clarence Clemons and Whitney Houston.
Gandolfini's body will be flown back to the US today with a funeral service Thursday.
The official proclamation of death: heart attack. He had a last meal of fresh gnocchi. His close friends also say he was battling an alcohol addiction. At dinner that night he had 4 shots of rum, 2 pina coladas, and a couple beers. Then he ate 2 orders of fried king prawns, and a big order of foie gras. Ouch! He's attended many Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, but didn't put too much effort into it lately.
Live by the sword....die by the sword.
