That's the average age of a Central New Yorker, according to the US Census Bureau. Figures were just released this week. That figure is up from 38.6, the last time they checked. And we're a little older around here than the national average which clocks in at 37.4 years old. Hey, but we're more experienced, right?
Breakdowns for Onondaga County:
--Asians 15,222 Cayuga and Cortland Counties have smaller Asian populations
--African Americans 53,523 the largest minority group in the county, but grew at a slower rate this time around

Nationally the entire minority population increased by almost 2% to 116 million, and minorities make up 37% of the total population.
