Syracuse police are now involved in a pair of homicides within a day of each other.

An apartment on Gertrude street on the Northside was the scene of the latest killing. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Johanna Pagan. She was found in a vacant apartment after neighbors heard her screaming for help. Police say they believe she was stabbed to death.

Police have also identified the teenager who was shot on South Avenue. 17 year old Dylan Cheek was killed after police say a car pulled up beside him and several shots were fired. Detectives believe he was targeted.
