Syracuse Police Make An Arrest In An Unusual Armed Robbery

Syracuse, N.Y. - Syracuse Police make an arrest in an unusual armed robbery.

Last night just before 9 officers responded to a Sunoco station on N. State Street, for a robbery call.

The employee said a man entered the store armed with a hatchet. He threatened the clerk, grabbed some cash and fled.

Police found the suspect, 47 year old Paul Clemons across the street at the Snowden Apartments.

As a result of witness interviews and camera footage review, Clemons was identified as the suspect.

A search of the apartment where Clemons was found revealed cash proceeds and clothing that he was wearing during the robbery.

Clemons was arrested and charged with Robbery in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.
