Syracuse Man Tracked Down By Cell Phone He Stole At Gunpoint

Town of Clay, N.Y. - Onondaga County Sheriff’s using some quick thinking and technology made quick work in an arrest of a man wanted for armed robbery.

Deputies have charged 34 year old Artel Clarke of Syracuse with robbery, criminal use of a firearm, and criminal possession of weapon.

Last night deputies responded to the an apartment complex off Galloway Drive in the Town of Clay, where a 25-year-old man told them as he was near his vehicle, when he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask holding a handgun.

The suspect took the victim's cell phone and other items and fled in a gray colored sedan. Using GPS and the victims phone they tracked down the van and Clarke.

Deputies found a .22 semi automatic handgun and the belongings of the victim.
