Ray Brook, N.Y. - State Police have arrested a Rome man after he lead them on a three county chase.
54 year old Edward Tucker was stopped by Troopers after they saw him driving erratically. As they were talking with him he took off. Leading to a chase that covered 120 miles.
Tucker drove along State Route 37 in the town of Alexandria into St Lawrence county and then into Franklin county. He ended up westbound on State Route 11 and eventually northbound on State Route 95.
Police used "stop sticks" to disable his car, but he slammed into a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police vehicle, and two trooper cars before finally coming to a stop.
Tucker was charged by Troop B with:
- 2 counts of reckless endangerment 1stdegree, a class D felony
- 3 counts of criminal mischief 2nddegree, a class D felony
- 1 count of criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree, a class D felony
- Driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor
- Refusal to take a breath test, a violation
- 3 counts of reckless endangerment 2nddegree, a class A misdemeanor
- 7 counts of unlawfully fleeing and officer in a motor vehicle 3rddegree, a class A misdemeanor.
- 1 count of criminal using drug paraphernalia 2nddegree, a class A misdemeanor
Tucker was arraigned and released, and transported to Troop D, where he was wanted on an arrest warrant for a domestic incident that occurred on November 1, 2021, in the town of Lee, Oneida County. In that incident, Tucker threatened two victims with an axe and a knife. He faces these additional charges for that case:
- Menacing 2nddegree, a class A misdemeanor
- Criminal mischief 3rddegree, a class E felony
- Criminal possession of a weapon 3rddegree, a class D felony
