Governor Cuomo has signed a new piece of legislation aimed at blocking robotexts from telemarketers.
While NYers currently have protection against unwanted robocalls, the measure closes a loophole that previously didn't define text messages as telemarketing. People can place their phone numbers on a company's Do Not Call list to avoid being contacted.
