Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo has signed legislation expanding the definition of telemarketing to include texting.
Telemarketing, also known as robocalling, has been a longstanding nuisance for New Yorkers
New Yorkers have protection against unwanted robocalls but until now, texting was not defined as telemarketing.
This legislation closes that loophole.
