Gov Cuomo Say Capacity Restrictions Lifted May 19th

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo announced today as positivity rate and hospitalization rates decline and vaccinations increase it's time to open up NY.

He said that beginning May 19th all capacity restrictions will be lifted. That affects retail stores, food services, amusement, museums, etc

However, the 6-foot social distancing requirement will remain in effect unless people are tested or vaccinated.

Cuomo said that over 7 million NY'ers are now fully vaccinated and according to the CDC, thats the highest number of any other large state in the country.

He also reminded people that the outdoor food and beverage curfew will be lifted on May 17th, indoor curfew will be lifted on May 31st.

He said the state's positivity rate stands at 1.94% and only 37 deaths.
