Onondaga County Numbers Good, One More Person Dies, More Appointments Open

Syracuse, N.Y - County Executive Ryan McMahon has announced the latest numbers, and as it has been lately there is good news and bad.

McMahon reported that another person has passed away in the County, a 63-year-old male.

On the numbers they look good., just 46 new cases, 550 active cases. The 7day average is 0.8%. There are 48 in the hospital, 7 in ICU

If these numbers continue to decline we may see more loosening of restrictions in the area. Yesterday CE McMahon announced new guidance for in-person learning in Onondaga County.

Health officials have given the green light on desks being spaced 3 feet apart instead of 6, which would provide more space for students to safely return to the classroom. Desks will also have to be covered with plexiglass barriers.

CE McMahon has also announced that approximately four hundred more vaccine appointments will be made available beginning at 4:30 PM for eligible individuals. The appointments will be for the clinic on Monday, March 8th, 2021 at the OnCenter.
