Gov Cuomo's Proposal To Speed Up Investigation Of Online Predators

Albany, N.Y. - Governor Cuomo has announced a new proposal to help speed up investigations involving online predators.

The bill would allow State Police Superintendent to issue administrative subpoenas, streamlining the process during investigations.

Cuomo said. "with greater ability to track and arrest online predators before they are able to retreat back into the web, we will be better prepared to bring these predators to justice".

State Police say that speed is an issue, as internet service providers do not retain data for long and that online predators often routinely change IP addresses to avoid detection.
