Three Teens Caught In A Stolen Car After A Chase

Syracuse, N.Y. - State police arrested 3 teens after a chase in a stolen car

Around 12:30 this morning Troopers pulled over car on the thruway. As the Trooper approached the car it fled at a high rate of speed. It attempted to take take an Exit 35 for East Syracuse when he lost control, hit a guide rial, and overturned. Three occupants ran from the crash. Two females were caught relatively quickly. AIR 1 was callled in and, the third person the male driver was arrested. The 16 year old driver was from Syracuse, the 17 and 15 year old females are from Utica.

The car was reported stolen from Utica. All three face a variety of charges.

  • The driver, a 16-year-old male from Syracuse, NY was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class “D” felony and Fleeing from a Police Officer 3rd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
  • Two passengers in the vehicle, a 17-year-old female, from Utica, NY and a 15-year-old female, from Utica, NY, were charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class “D” felony.

All three juveniles were issued a Family Court Appearance Ticket and released to a legal guardian.
