Admitted Child Killer Denied Parole Again

Albany, N.Y. - The man convicted of murdering a 4-year-old boy when he was 13-years-old has been denied parole.

Eric Smith was convicted in 1993 of killing 4-year-old Derrick Robie on their way to a Steuben County summer camp. Smith confessed to strangling Robie, smashed his head with a rock and then sodomized Robie's corpse with a tree limb.

The gruesome case made national headlines.

Smith has been denied release ten times by the State Parole board. He will be eligible again in October of next year.
