Rome Man Arrested For Stealing Vehicle Parts For Cash

Rome, N.Y. - A Rome man has been arrested for purposefully damaging vehicles and stealing their parts in exchange for cash.

26 year old Richard Tennant Jr has been charged with three felony counts, including second degree criminal mischief, after stealing catalytic converters from vehicles he damaged and sold them to scrap yards.

State Police say they've been investigating Tennant for two months, but claimed that he was actively avoiding law enforcement because he had multiple warrants out for his arrest in Utica, Rome, and Oneida. Police were able to arrest him at a routine traffic stop in Marcy on Friday. Tennant is being held on bail in Oneida County.
