Albany, N.Y. - While the weather may not be ideal in a lot of places, New York State is offering free fishing today.
Fishing license requirements are being waived for Empire State residents as well as non-residents. Governor Cuomo signed legislation in 2015 increasing the number of free fishing days statewide.
The hope is to encourage more people to get outdoors and enjoy world-class fishing opportunities.
