Albany, N.Y. - A new study shows New York teachers are the highest paid in the country.
The Rockefeller Institute of Government found the average salary for Empire State educators is just over $79,000 a year. Teachers in Connecticut were in the runner-up spot with an average salary of $77,000.
Data also showed New York spends about $22,000 per public school student every year. That's much higher than the national average.
