Cuomo Promising New Gun Laws After Dems Take Total Control Of Government

Albany, N.Y. - Expect a Second SAFE Act once Democrats take total control of the State Government.

Governor Cuomo is promising to take quick action on gun control measures once the Legislature returns in January.

The governor announced the plan in the aftermath of a shooting in California that left several people dead.  He says the Senate and Assembly, soon to be controlled by Democrats, will focus on strengthening New York's already tough gun laws.

Among the ideas, raising the firearm purchase age from 18 to 21 and extending the waiting period for gun purchases.  That action would only happen if red flags are raised during a federal background check.
