Dems Regain Control Of House

Democrats will have control of the U.S. House for the first time since 2010.

Democrats needed to flip 23 seats in yesterday's midterm elections and they exceeded that number.

They did so by successfully targeting many Republicans in districts that Hillary Clinton won in the 2016 presidential election.  It is a huge win for House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, who lost the speakership when Republicans took over the House in 2011.

The Democratic win also makes life more difficult for President Trump.  Democrats have pledged to aggressively investigate the President and his administration.

Big fights can also be expected over Trump's plan for a massive border wall and funding the government.  That raises the possibility of some government shutdowns over the next two years.
