Former NY State Senate Majority Leader To Be Sentenced

New York - Former New York State Senate majority leader Dean Skelos faces sentencing tomorrow after being convicted of bribery, fraud and extortion.

In 2015, both Skelos and his son Adam were found guilty of corruption and sentenced to prison, but that was overturned due to a change in the law.

Prosecutors say the elder Skelos deserves more than the five years he was given following the first conviction, arguing that he provided misleading testimony to the jury while on trial.

Meanwhile, his attorney says Skelos is a key source of emotional support for his two autistic grandchildren, and deserves only two years.
