Syracuse Police Investigate Man Shot In Back

Syracuse, N.Y. - Last night around 9:50 Syracuse Police Officers responded to the area of Sterling Avenue and Rich Street in regards to a shots fired call. 

While police were investigating, they received word that a victim had been dropped off at Upstate University Hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. 

Officers went to the hospital, where they met with a 20 year old male, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. The injury was not life threatening.

The victim stated that he was standing in the road on Sterling Avenue, speaking with some friends when he was shot.  The victim stated that he did not see the suspects, and ran from the area after he realized that he was injured.  There is no suspect description available.
