Suspect in Waterloo Murders Indicted On 19 Counts

Waterloo, N.Y. - The man responsible  for murdering 2 people in Waterloo last week has been indicted.

Seneca County DA Barry Porsch announced that 48 year old John Tohafjian has been indicted on 19 counts:

  • 4 counts of murder in the first degree
  • 4 counts of assault in the first degree
  • Assault in the second degree
  • 3 counts of burglary in the first degree
  • Tampering with a witness in the first degree
  • Intimidating a victim or witness in the first degree
  • Criminal use of a firearm in the first degree
  • Rreckless endangerment in the first degree
  • 3 counts of criminal contempt in the first degree

All counts are felonies.  The indictment alleges that Tohafjian unlawfully entered a dwelling, violating three orders of protection, caused the death of two and injured a third individual with a deadly weapon. 

 He'll be arraigned this afternoon in Seneca County Court.
