Onondaga County Is Ready For Blue-Green Algae Outbreak

Skaneateles, N.Y. - Onondaga County Health Officials say they are ready if another harmful algal bloom shows up on Skaneateles Lake.

Health Officials say that they are already monitoring the water intakes on the lake for toxins.

It's in response to toxic algae blooms that affected the safety of the untreated water from the Lake last summer.

Skaneateles Lake provides the drinking water to the City of Syracuse, the Town and Village of Skaneateles, The Town and Village of Elbridge, The Town of DeWitt and the Village of Jordan. They say so far no toxins have been found.
