Ex Cicero Teacher Rejects Plea Deal, Will Go To Trial For Murder

A former Cicero schoolteacher has decided to reject a plea offer.

James Ball was due in court today for what County Court Judge Thomas J. Miller had put in his schedule as a  possible plea .Instead Ball's attorney, Emil Rossi asked the judge to move the case forward.

Ball is charged with shooting and killing his brother-in-law during an argument last 4th of July.

After this point the judge indicated he would not consider any plea that would reduce the crime to something less than murder. If a plea deal comes up again it would mean Ball would face the possibility of life in prison.

The case will likely go to trial in September.
