On Monday Syracuse Police Officers responded to the area of Solar Street and Bear Street, near Destiny USA in regards to a DOA call.
A citizen walking in the area saw a person laying on the ground and called 911 to report it. Upon arrival, Officers located a deceased male in a grassy field near a tree line in the area.
The Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and as a result the person has been identified as Donald O’Mara, 61 years old.
Mr. O’Mara was last seen in Syracuse near the Rescue Mission on December 12th, 2017 and was the subject of an active missing person investigation.
The cause of death for Mr. O’Mara appears to be accidental, and there were no signs of any injury.
It appears that he has been deceased for an extended period of time, though an exact date is unable to be determined.
