Man Accused Of A Hate Crime In East Syracuse

East Syracuse, N.Y. - A Syracuse man is facing a hate crime charge after an attack on an elderly gay man.

DeWitt police arrested 52-year-old Alexander Strauts for physically assaulted and injured a 76-year-old man in East Syracuse earlier this month. He was charged with assault as a hate crime, unlawful imprisonment and aggravated harassment. 

Strauts is being held at the Justice Center until he is arraigned.
