Man Threatens Ex Girlfriend With Knife, Chokes Her

Wednesday night around 11:30, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Tioga Street in regards to a physical domestic investigation. 

When police arrived they met a woman who said her ex-boyfriend, Julio Matos, 22, of Syracuse, had broke into her residence. She said she tried to call 911, but Matos took her phone and held her at knife point. The victim told police Matos poked her with the knife and choked her. She attempted to get away, but Matos grabbed her by the hair and dragged her back into the residence.

A third party called 911 to report the incident.  Matos fled the scene, but police were able to locate him, he was taken into custody without incident.  

Matos was arrested and charged with Burglary in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Menacing in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Harassment in the Second Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree.
