Area Firefighters Have Been Busy

Fire crews around the area have been busy:

Baldwinsville's retro-style McDonald's got a little too hot - again.  Firefighters were called to the fast food restaurant Sunday afternoon around 3-30 after deep fryers began to smolder.  Officials report that there was no extensive damage and no one was hurt. This is the same McDonald's that saw a fire erupt in their drive-thru in December.

No one was hurt when a vacant house on Shonnard Street caught fire early this morning.  Syracuse firefighters responded to the fire, which badly damaged the home.  It appears the house was vacant for some years.  Investigators are looking into what caused the fire to start.

Firefighters in Mattydale responded to a house fire, around 7:30 this morning on Harrington Street. The fire may have started on the porch. By the time fire crews arrived the house was fully engulfed. 2 people were home at the time and got out safely, their injuries are not known at this time. Multiple fire departments were needed to get the flames under control.  The cause is still being investigated.
