Deputy Shoots Gun During Incident In Salina

Salina, N.Y. - An Onondaga Sheriff's Deputy was forced to fire their gun last night in Salina.

Deputies say around 7:30 p.m. an emotionally disturbed person attacked a deputy causing them to fire a round from their duty weapon.  

As more deputies arrived on scene they were to jump in and help subdue the suspect.  

Deputies say that two people from the Traister Drive residence may be facing charges.  

The Deputy is expected to be named Sunday night, in accordance with Department procedures.
