Madison County Sheriffs arrested a man for stealing from New York State Department of Tax and Finance.
David T. Van Marter, 39 of East Syracuse is accused of breaking into his former business, Syracuse Chimney and Stove, after it and its contents were seized by the state for nonpayment of taxes.
Van Marter allegedly stole 1100 hundred dollars worth of property.
He was charged with burglary and grand larceny. He's due in court February 15th.
