SU's athletic programs are in the top 10 in a category everyone can be proud of - the collective graduation rate of their student-athletes.
The Orange program's 91 percent overall graduation rate for 2016-2017 is the school's best-ever since the NCAA began measuring grad rates in 2004. It ranks SU up with Powerhouse 5 conference schools like Notre Dame, Stanford, and Duke. The ranking gives the Orange more than bragging rights - a university official says the NCAA will give schools a portion of its men's basketball TV money based on the graduation success rate, or GSR. Colgate University sets the standard in Upstate for Division I schools - this is their 6th straight 98 percent GSR.
