Driver Crashes Into Syracuse Fire Truck with Lights and Siren On

No one was hurt when a car crashed into a Syracuse Fire Department truck Sunday night, on its way to a call with lights on and siren blaring.

Syracuse police went to East Fayette and Cherry Street around 6:30pm to investigate the crash.  Firefighters were driving northbound on Cherry Street enroute to an emergency call with its emergency light and siren activated.  As the fire truck approached the East Fayette intersection, another vehicle traveling westbound on Fayette failed to yield right of way to the fire truck and hit the truck.  Firefighter Jajuan McIntire was driving the fire truck, and Lawrence Johnson of Syracuse was behind the wheel of the other vehicle.  Neither driver was hurt.  Johnson was cited for multiple violations including failure to yield right of way to an emergency vehicle.
