Ticket Scammers Targeting Syracuse Residents

City hall in Syracuse are warning folks about a scam making their rounds that target city residents.

Mayor Stephanie Miner claims that some potential victims are getting e-mails which claim that money is owed for a traffic citation after running a red light and being caught on camera. Syracuse doesn't have cameras like that used for issuing tickets.

The e-mails threaten the victim that their license will be revoked if the ticket isn't paid within 14 days. The mayor is reminding everyone that they don't contact people about tickets through e-mails.
