Antonacci Files Legal Paperwork Against County

Onondaga County Comptroller Bob Antonacci

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Onondaga County Comptroller is filing the paperwork to sue Onondaga County.

Comptroller Bob Antonacci filed a notice of claim in March against the County where he accuses County Executive Joanie Mahoney, Facilities Commissioner Duane Owens and County Ethics Board Member Dennis Duval of damaging the County's defense in a pending Federal Discrimination lawsuit.

The accusation is made that the trio ‘cavorted’ with the plaintiff of that lawsuit Dino Dixie at the Scotch N Sirloin Restaurant in DeWitt on December 16th.

District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick told Bob Lonsberry that former area Lawyer Mike McCarthy was also there that evening.

"The county has a policy of not commenting on pending litigation," says Onondaga County Communications Director Justin Sayles. "However, I can tell you that while the County Executive has been briefed on the Comptroller's complaint, she has not read it herself. It is just more of the same from someone who is attempting to distract from the fact that he is accused of racism and has already spent hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars on failed lawsuits."

Antonacci is the specific target of the Federal Discrimination lawsuit.

State Police were also called out to the restaurant that night for an incident.
