Former Director Of CNY SPCA Sentenced

The former director of the SPCA in Mattydale learned his fate today after he stole more than a half million dollars from the shelter.

46 year old Paul Morgan got four to twelve years in prison today at his sentencing. The theft of more than 600 thousand dollars occurred over a six year period to feed Morgan's gambling addiction. Prosecutors say he wrote checks to himself and traveled around the country spending the money at casinos.

Morgan's attorney has said publically that his client had an illness and also blamed the SPCA itself for having little oversight of their financials situation, because Morgan wrote 132 checks to himself over that period of time.
