Syracuse police arrested a Syracuse woman after they caught her attacking her ex-husband with a knife.
Officers say they responded to a 911 call about a physical domestic abuse at a home on West Onondaga Street. They found a man bleeding from his leg and a woman holding a knife next to his throat. They reported they were able to disarm the woman safely and take her into custody. The officers say they administered first aid to the victim until medical personnel arrived. Their investigation revealed the victim is the ex-husband of of the suspect and the two became involved in a physical dispute that resulted in the victim's injuries. The suspect was charged with first degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. She was taken to the Justice Center and arraigned in city court.
The victim was identified as 71-year-old Elijah Kimbrough, of the home on West Onondaga Street. His condition is unknown at present. Charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon was 64-year-old Verna Davis, also living at the home on West Onondaga Street.
