As a kickoff for a week full of remembering, dozens of SU students and staff last night held candles and walked from Hendricks Chapel to the Place of Remembrance - dedicated to the 270 lives lost in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103.
This is the 25th anniversary of the attack, on December 21, 1988. While at the memorial, 35 students each read aloud the name of a Syracuse student killed that day. All total, forty Central New York residents lost their lives when the plane fell on Lockerbie, Scotland. Families of the victims are expected on campus for SU's annual Remembrance Week.
