A babysitting job is a great first job for many kids, and now the Red Cross of Central New York has a training program for kids aged 11 to 15 to get them properly prepared.
The program covers many common babysitting duties, including diapering and feeding, choosing age-appropriate games and toys, bedtime and discipline issues, and even how to handle possible emergencies.
The training is Monday, January 20, which is Martin Luther King Day, from 9 to 4. The cost is $75, including a handbook, training certificate and a CD. to register, call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcross.org/take-a-class.
