Syracuse police say they have arrested a pedestrian after they caused a two-car crash.
Officers responded to an accident at Route 81 near Spencer Street and found a male running on the highway. He was taken into custody and later identified as 20-year-old Jamie Johnson of Syracuse. While Johnson was on the highway, a Ford pickup braked to avoid hitting him and was rear-ended by a Cadillac Escalade. Neither driver was injured, but a 2-year-old passenger in the Cadillac was taken to Upstate University Hospital as a precaution. Police charged Johnson with Reckless Endangerment and took him to the Justice Center. He will be arraigned today in Syracuse City Criminal Court. It is unknown why Johnson was running on the highway.
