Syracuse mayoral candidate Ian Hunter awaits a judge's ruling on whether he will stay on the ballot in the Republican primary next month.
Onondaga County Republican Chairman Tom Dadey has sued Hunter, claiming he didn't have enough valid signatures in order to run for office. Hunter distributed petitions to get on the ballot without backing of the local party. Hunter has just enough signatures to qualify after elections officials rejected over a hundred of them, but Dadey's suit is an attempt to challenge even more on Hunter's petitions. After testimony yesterday, Judge Donald Greenwood ordered both sides back to court at 11 this morning.
