The Great New York State Fair wrapped up its twelve-day run yesterday with some numbers that certainly improved upon 2012.
Officials report attendance yesterday was 60,891, bringing the total attendance for the 2013 fair to 851,157. That's an increase of 5,562 over last year. Among other interesting statistics for the fair was the sales of the famous one dollar baked potato. Officials report a record-breaking 54,587 sold during the fair's run, almost 4,000 more than the previous record of 50,966. They estimate that was one potato sold every 10 seconds for the entire length of the fair.
