A suspected driver involved in a deadly crash in Clay this week and left his passenger for dead has surrendered to police.
Onondaga County Sheriffs Deputies say 42 year old Glenwood Carr of Baldwinsville has surrendered to police after the death of a passenger in his car Sunday night.
40 year old Steven Sears of Phoenix was killed after Carr drove off Bonstead Road in Clay and his car flipped over. Sears was trapped in the car and later pronounced dead and police say Carr fled the scene on foot.
Carr is currently charged with a Class-D felony of "Leaving the Scene of an Incident Involving a Motor Crash With a Fatal Result." It carries a maximum sentence of 7 years. Sheriff Kevin Walsh says his office is conferring with the District Attorney on what additional charges may be filed. Carr has 25 previous convictions, including at least one for DWI.
Carr surrendered to detectives at about 5:10 Tuesday afternoon. He was arraigned at 6p.m. in Clay Town Court and is being held without bail.
